Jet-Lag Recovery Massage 120 Minutes PHP1,000

Posted on May 23, 2020 at 12:50 AM

Allover Body Scrub 30mins + Reflexology 30mins + Swedish Massage 1HR

This is the perfect treatment to overcome jet lag and to relieve stiffness, aches and pains. To reduce jet-lag and fatigue I begin with an allover body scrub with an antioxidant Organic salt scrub, followed by a gentle and soothing massage bringing together elements of Swedish massage and with the stimulation of reflex points on the scalp and the feet with a blend of signature oils to increase circulation and reduce swelling, bringing complete serenity to your body and mind. Highly recommended after a long flight.

Are there side effects to the treatment?

Posted on May 23, 2020 at 12:40 AM

Usually not. As energy is redirected in the body, internal chemicals and hormones are stimulated and healing begins to takeplace. Occasionally the original symptoms worsen for a few days, or other general changes in appetite, sleep, bowel or urination patterns, or emotional state may be triggered. These should not cause concern, as they are simply indications that the acupuncture is starting to work. It is quite common with the first one or two treatments to have a sensation of deep relaxation or even mild disorientation immediately following the treatment. These pass within a short time, and never require anything more than a bit of rest to overcome.

Are there any "Do's and Don'ts" for me on the day of treatment?

Posted on May 23, 2020 at 12:40 AM

Yes. To enhance the value of a treatment, the following guidelines are important:

Please have a light snack and wear comfortable clothing for treatment.

Do not eat an unusually large meal immediately before or after treatment.

Do not over-exercise or consume alcoholic beverages within 6 hours before or after treatment.

Plan your activities so that after treatment you can get some rest, this is especially important for the first few visits.

Continue to take any prescription medicines as directed by your physician.

Remember to keep good mental or written notes of what your response is to the treatment. This is important for your acupuncturist to know so that the follow-up treatments can be designed to best help you and your problem.

Why choose Cosmetic Acupuncture over a Face Lift?

Posted on May 22, 2020 at 9:25 PM

Cosmetic Acupuncture is not a replacement for surgery; however, it is an excellent natural alternative. It is much less costly and a safer treatment. Unlike face lift surgery, it is painless and has no negative side effects; there is no trauma inflicted on the body and there is no need for recovery. There is no risk of disfigurement and you can stop with no ill effects if it does not suit you.

Unlike face lift ⁄ cosmetic surgery, which may have an extended recovery period (2 weeks or longer) with swelling, discoloration and scarring, cosmetic acupuncture actually helps heal the face.

Does Acupuncture Hurt?

Posted on May 22, 2020 at 9:25 PM

I use very thin sterile needles that are disposable and used only once. Most people find acupuncture to be energizing, relaxing and even fall asleep during or after the treatment. However, the needles can cause temporary soreness. Depending on where a needle is placed, there may be some sensation (quick pinch, tingling, dull ache, or heavy feeling) during the insertion but there should not be ongoing pain during treatment. If you do experience pain, please ask the acupuncturist to either adjust or remove that point. In JMI Therapeutic Wellness Services Acupuncture Clinic Manila only uses new disposable needles, open in front of you and disposed of after each treatment session. Thus there is no risk of infection whatsoever.

COVID-19 (CORONA VIRUS) UPDATE:

Posted on March 13, 2020 at 10:05 PM

COVID-19 (CORONA VIRUS) UPDATE:

Due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19 in the Philippines, I would advise patients or clients with bookings or those wishing to book appointments, not to come to JMI Therapeutic Wellness Services Office if you have symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath or other cold/flu-like symptoms. I advise you to contact DOH Hotline (02) 651 77800 local 1149 to 1150 for further advice if you have not already done so. This will help to ensure the safety of both parties and also to protect those clients and members of the community who may be more vulnerable, particularly the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation at this difficult time.

Your Role in Keeping Your Family and Yourself Safe

The DOH recommends taking precautions to prevent the spread of the diseases:

  1. Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol
  2. Avoid touching your face, eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
  3. Cover your coughs and sneezes
  4. Routinely clean and disinfect object and surfaces
  5. If you are sick or at risk:
  6. Use a face mask a to avoid spreading to others
  7. Stay at home avoid other people

Acupuncture for Panic Disorder Reduce Anxiety Symptoms with Acupuncture

Posted on September 21, 2019 at 2:20 AM

What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a healing technique that originated thousands of years ago from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). This practice is based on the concept that medical conditions and mental health disorders are caused by an imbalance in energy. TCM theorizes that the body contains vital life energy called chi. When the body and mind are functioning properly, chi should flow through the body’s energy channels. These channels are called meridians and are located at certain points throughout the body. According to this tradition, sometimes chi becomes congested in different meridian pathways, leading to disease or disorders.

The goal of acupuncture is to restore the health and balance of these channels. During acupuncture treatment sessions, small needles are placed along specific areas of the body. Known as acupuncture points, these areas are thought to be where blockage of energy may be occurring. The needles come in a variety of thickness and length and are used to stimulate and open up blocked channels of energy.

ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT FOR NECK PAIN

Posted on August 25, 2019 at 7:05 AM

Neck pain and it’s associated problems of back and shoulder pain, headaches or dizziness is a very common condition seen in the clinic. Whether caused by stress, poor posture, injury, arthritis, general wear and tear or some unknown cause, this can be a distressing complaint causing both pain and restriction of movement.

Diagnosis is made by the location and nature of the pain, assessing the aggravating and relieving factors and trying to get to the underlying cause.

Acupuncture can be very useful when manipulation of the neck is undesirable and can provide safe, effective and gentle treatment of the neck, often reducing pain and increasingly mobility in just a few sessions.

Between our clinics, we can offer a comprehensive service for neck pain. With acupuncture, chiropractic and physiotherapy in all clinics we aim to provide the best all round care. If necessary, we can carry our X-rays at our Harley St location and we have good working relationships with some of the best consultants in the country.

Neck pain is predominantly treated with acupuncture, although herbal medicine may be used in certain situations. This may be combined with the use of heat lamps, Chinese massage or electro-acupuncture to achieve the best results.

ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT FOR ADDICTION

Posted on August 25, 2019 at 7:05 AM

Acupuncture can effectively help with withdrawal symptoms, but the patient has to want to give up smoking, drugs or alcohol.

Treatment is based on a combination of ear acupuncture points that are used extensively in rehabilitation centers for drug addiction. Nicotine is a drug and the principle of alleviating withdrawal symptoms is the same, regardless of the substance that is causing the addiction (alcohol, heroin, cocaine or nicotine). The combination of points is called the ‘NADA’ protocol and is chosen because it influences the sympathetic nervous system, calms the mind and helps the body detoxify. Body acupuncture points may also be used depending on the underlying patterns observed during the initial consultation.

If particular problems or withdrawal symptoms arise during treatment then these will be addressed, for example, excessive hunger, mood swings, irritability or difficulties sleeping. Therefore, even though a particular protocol is used, treatment will always be individualized to provide maximum benefit.

Treatment is normally twice weekly to begin with and then once a week. It is best to refrain from smoking, drinking or drug use for at least five hours before your first appointment. We have successfully helped people to give up smoking, recreational drugs, prescription medications and alcohol.

Acupuncture is effective for relieving period pain

Posted on August 25, 2019 at 4:55 AM

Period pain, or dysmenorrhea, is a condition affecting up to 95 percent of menstruating women, according to a report published in the journal Human Reproduction Update.

Dysmenorrhea is classified into two types: primary, wherein no known health conditions can account for the painful cramps, and secondary, during which the pain occurs as a result of a diagnosed disorder, such as endometriosis or uterine fibroids.

A new study led by Australian researchers tests the effectiveness of acupuncture treatments in relieving period pain.
